Going to Washington State

We have begun our trip to Washington state. Lynda and I to Paris on Saturday. We went to church with Ray on Sunday while Carolyn rested up and tried to get over a touch of something.

At 9:30 this morning we left Paris and headed toward Oklahoma. Our destination for tonight was Salinas, Kansas. We didn't have any special thing to see today--we would just enjoyed the scenery as we drove north across Oklahoma and into Kansas. We ate lunch at an Arby's in Gleenpool, OK. It had been years since Lynda and I had eaten at an Arby's. It was pretty good.

We did stop in Lindsborg, KS. We have visited the "little Sweden" several times over the years and decided to stop in to see if the tea room where we had had tea and sweets a year or so ago was open. It wasn't, but the owner unlocked the door and chatted with us a bit. We ended up going down the street to The Old Grind where we had coffee/tea/smoothie and cake.

We proceeded to the motel, checked in and unloaded our stuff. We ate supper in our room.

Over all it was a good birthday day.
